FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Oklahoma City, OK, January 19, 2026 — As food insecurity surged across Oklahoma during a period of unprecedented need, a coalition of organizations collaborated to support families across 53 counties. The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS), Corbeau Tech, Amazon Last Mile, PepsiCo’s Food for Good, Love’s Travel Stops, and Hobby Lobby worked together to help ensure that nutritious food reached households experiencing shortages.
With federal SNAP benefits reduced and emergency funding covering only 3–5% of normal food purchasing power, the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and its partners faced the immense challenge of filling an estimated 93% gap in food support. Through combined resources — including private donations, USDA TEFAP commodities, Feeding America allocations, and corporate/nonprofit collaboration — the coalition helped deliver essential food assistance to families statewide.Provided delivery support and volunteer participation that enabled food boxes to be labeled, prepared, and distributed efficiently across Oklahoma.
Supplied warehouse space during high‑volume packing periods and supported volunteer coordination to streamline box labeling and preparation.
Contributed supply‑chain expertise and resources that strengthened food access and distribution workflows during peak demand.
Offered additional warehouse space when logistical constraints required alternative storage and staging locations, helping maintain operational continuity.
Collaborated with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and partner organizations to help coordinate statewide support efforts and ensure food reached families in need.
Provided fractional project management services, including cross‑agency coordination, data tracking, logistics oversight, and issue resolution — helping align partners, reinforce accountability, and support timely execution across the initiative.
Through these combined efforts, the coalition supported the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma in distributing 22,500 food boxes across its 53‑county service area. The initiative highlights the value of public‑private collaboration in addressing hunger, demonstrating how nonprofits, corporate partners, and state agencies can strategically work together to meet critical community needs.
